CELEBRATE - What's inside the June Favorite Things Box!

Oh my gosh…you guys…I am feeling all the feels as I launch my first Favorite Things Box in June to celebrate my 5th of year of This New Old House and my 45th birthday.

1 - So excited!!! I launched my blog This New Old House for my 40th birthday 5 years ago and started from ground zero, literally with just my closest friends and family following along. In the past 5 years 75,000 of you have joined in from across the Midwest and country to follow along on my crazy DIY, design and decor adventures. For my 5th anniversary of This New Old House and 45th birthday, I knew I had to do something special to celebrate!!!

2 - So grateful!!! I am so incredibly blessed by all of your support in the past 5 years and am humbled that you all are just as excited about the Favorite Things Box as I am. My wait list sold me out of my launch boxes in 1 1/2 hours. SO FAST…I was overwhelmed by your support. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

3 - So much fun ahead!!! If you have followed me from the start or jumped in sometime in the last 5 years to follow my home, projects, family, and adventures you have come to know my style and my favorite things. Each month I’ll be curating a box of my favorite things themed seasonally with trending items that I love. I wanted each month’s box to be a surprise {because who doesn’t love a fun surprise?!!} and something that I would be super excited to get in the mail each month...so I know you will be excited too! One of my missions since I launched This New Old House has been supporting other small women owned business owners along the way, so I am so excited to include at least one item in each box from a locally owned women business or maker. By supporting and sharing in my box…you are not only supporting me but the dreams of other small businesses and that just makes my heart happy!!!

Here’s what’s inside:

1 - A DIY lemon lavender cupcake kit including a recipe {one of my favorite flavor combinations that will soon by your favorite too!}, decorating bags, adorable cupcake liners, a frosting tip, lavender bags from one of my favorite local spice stores in Des Moines All Spice and fun sprinkles! Spark your creativity with this DIY project and invite your gal pals or family over to enjoy and celebrate your friendship and the simple every day things!

2- Lavender Garden Mint soy candle hand poured and made with love from my favorite young entrepreneur and daughter, Mallary, for your HOME! This candle is an exclusive scent that you will only find in the June This New Old House Favorite Things Box specially created for the perfect garden scent by Mallary for you all to enjoy in this box! Imagine a beautiful summer day in the garden with the warm sunlight shining on your face and lavender flowers gently shifting in the light breeze. Breath in the sweet lavender fragrance enhanced with notes of citrus, camphor and eucalyptus. And, all this lovely lavender mixed with a hint of garden mint with crisp notes of mint leaves and spearmint and a slight herbal and woody undertone. I can’t wait for you to relax and experience this beautiful candle scent!!!

16 Candles was started by my son, Spencer, when he turned 16. When he went off to college, the business was taken over my Mallary when she turned 16. In addition to her candle business, Mallary also has a bakery business and got her Iowa home baking license when she was 14. I love watching my children’s creativity and entrepreneurial spirits! 3- Lavender Fields soap handmade by one of my favorite local makers Cathy with Ada Acres on her rural farm and shop in Linden, Iowa to PAMPER you!

Funny story, I actually met Cathy when we started bee keeping now four seasons ago. She was my bee mentor and helped us shake our first boxes of bees into their hives. I love Cathy’s sweet personality and all of her soaps are amazing. I love how they lather {which is important to me for handmade soap} and the smells are absolutely breath taking!!!

BONUS GIFT: You received either a vanilla mint or sweet lavender lip balm from Ada Acres for being one of my first launch box customers! YAY!

And, bonus, when you visit Ada Acres store, she has alpacas to greet you!!! Don’t you just love their sweet faces and want to cuddle them right up?!!
