As I was curating this month’s Favorite Things Box, I wanted to share some items to help you get your home into the festive heart holiday spirit. When I launched the Favorite Things Boxes, I wanted a way for you to bring the This New Old House blog experience into your own homes and I know you all love my Valentine’s day decorations!
This box features three local makers and items for your home, a little pamper, and fun DIY to help you share some Valentine love with your favorite people!

#1 – Vintage Valentine Banner - I love a good seasonal banner as an easy way to change up your decor! I was so excited to work with Cheryl + Jane from White Cottage Market in Winterset, IA on these handmade bingo card buntings for you! All of the materials they used to create the banner are vintage and upcycled, so each one is a just a little bit unique...I love them! I can’t wait to see where you put yours to celebrate the Valentine season!!!
#2 - Valentine Gnome - You may have seen my Valentine gnome collection if you have been following This New Old House for a while. I am super excited to add this cutie to my collection and yours. These gnomes are handmade by maker Liz from Rivendell Gnomes in Greenville, SC.
#3 - 16 Candles have become a popular box item and I am super excited to share this special scent exclusive to the Favorite Things Box hand poured soy by my favorite young entrepreneur {and daughter} Mallary from16 Candles in Adel, IA. Enjoy the sweet cherry + almond mix!!!
#4 - Heart Cookie Kit - Let’s have a little creative baking fun this month with a fluted heart shaped cookie cutter and decorating kit to make conversation heart cookies to share with your favorite people as special Valentine gifts. Bonus, also use the heart cookie cutter in your V-day decor!
#5 - Sugar Cookie Recipe - To help you with your cookie baking fun, I have included our family’s favorite sugar cookie cut out recipe. Save this recipe for all the holidays and add to your cookie cutter collection! I have been making this recipe since I was a kid with lots of fun baking + decorating memories with my favorite people!
